This was a really fun set up that I loved photographing. The stage is styrofoam and the speakers I 3d printed and painted. The lights are cheap ballon lights that are available online. They're very versatile, I highly recommend buying a pack.
By adding something to the foreground of your set up you can achieve more depth. In addition lowering or raising your aperture will adjust the blur around yo
Here is a simple shot, but a great example of why it's important to take multiple pictures of a set up. Aside from that fact that the photo shoot is over too fast If you are "one and done", you never know what else you'll find.
Don't be afraid to take your camera in hand and move it through the set. Once I get my main Idea out of the way I always do a "fly through" with my cell phone camera.
I usually try to get three photos that I like from a set up. I think some of it has to do with how I curate my Instagram page, but a lot goes to the above mentioned. If I'm doing something elaborate I want to get as much from it as possible.
Just going for the classic Nosferatu look here. Shadow pictures are challenging to get right and I feel like I'm getting closer with each one I take. This one was all about the bed for me. I hot glued balsa wood to a figure box and quickly stained it. It turned out better than I expected for such a fast project.
Welcome! Thanks for riding over!
